Today, the NHL released the full roster for the 2017 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend. Some of the most notables on the roster include rookie goal leaders Auston Matthews and Patrik Laine, and the most represented team being the Chicago Blackhawks with 4 players–Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Duncan Keith, and Corey Crawford. The four captains, voted by the fans and announced earlier this month, are Connor McDavid, Sidney Crosby, P.K. Subban and Carey Price.

Representing the Atlantic Division and the Boston Bruins, forward Brad Marchand and goaltender Tuukka Rask will be in LA. This is the first all-star appearance for both Marchand and Rask. Marchand leads the team this season in points with 35 in 43 games. Last season he finished with a personal high of 37 goals and 60 points as well. With the Bruins currently in a playoff position, it’s no secret Marchand is a major reason why and his selection is very well deserved.

Between the pipes, Tuukka Rask is another major reason, if not the reason, why the Bruins are sitting in the playoff picture. He is currently tied for 1st in the NHL in shutouts with 5, sits 3rd in goals against with a 1.93 average, tied for 3rd in wins with 20, and tied for 5th in save percentage with .928. With such a strong start to the first half of the season, it’s no surprise here either that Rask was named an All-Star.

Congratulations to Brad Marchand and Tuukka Rask!
