After the Patriots won on Sunday, Deion Sanders Skyped with Chris Hogan. Clearly, Sanders was impressed with Hogan’s performance of nine receptions for 180 yards and two touchdowns. He exclaimed, “who are you, man?” Of course, Hogan went to his resume instead of letting us all know that he is the holder of the Patriots best postseason performance for a wide receiver.

Hogan’s Hero

Sanders wanted to know the secret of Hogan’s effectiveness against the Steelers. Hogan said the Patriots knew they would play a lot of zone. This meant the Patriots could find the soft spots. Hogan, a solid team player, credited Tom Brady and the offensive line for giving him time to catch and run with the football.

Also, Sanders wanted to know what it was like in the Patriots huddle. Specifically, he asked about Tom Brady in that moment. Hogan described him as “locked in” and “laser-focused” in the huddle and on the sideline.

After leaving the Buffalo Bills and becoming a receiver on the Patriots, Hogan wanted to be a part of the team. Hogan knew the Patriots had a long history of winning. He was ready to do whatever he was told to do. Furthermore, Hogan said he “created a little role” for himself on the offense and he just wanted to take advantage of all the opportunities he can on this team.

Sanders congratulated Hogan and his wife on the twins they are expecting, which added emotion to a great day.
