The Tampa Bay Lightning (13-8-1) come into town today after a disappointing 5-3 loss to Columbus in Tampa on Friday. They’ll be a motivated bunch to show they’re better than the defensive effort they displayed against the Blue Jackets. The Bruins will have to bear down (ha) and finish on their scoring chances. As much as I’d love it, David Pastrnak cannot score every Bruins goal this season.

Initial reports on Twitter seem to show that Zdeno Chara will not be playing in today’s game, continuing a worrisome trend of big-name players going down with injury to start the season.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

With the Bruins clearly struggling for offense, watch for Joe Morrow to try to chip in a bit more offensively on the back end. Claude is looking for more transition and offensive contribution from the blueliners, and with Joe Morrow knowing he’s skating on very thin ice I think that today could be a very big game for him. Joe Morrow currently has one assist in eight games played this season.
