The Bruins are set to take on The New York Islanders tonight in Boston.  The Islanders (11-14-6) hope to snap their five-game losing streak. The Bruins (17-13-3) are looking for win to push them over the .500 mark at home.

Tonight is the first of three meetings for these two teams this season. The Bruins went 3-0 against the Islanders last season.

David Pastrnak will miss the second game due to elbow surgery. Vatrano was called up from Providence on Monday after missing the most of this season due to torn ligaments in his foot. He played two games in Providence, scoring in each of them. He will not be in tonight’s match-up.

What to Watch For

The Bruins are still trying spice up the offense, switching lines around trying to spark some chemistry. In Sunday’s game, Hayes scored the lone goal, which was enough to get the win. The Bruins lines will need to find a way to get the puck in net.

The Islanders John Tavares leads the team with 23 points this season. He has a career 11 goals against the Bruins in 23 games. Dennis Seidenberg will play for the first time in the Garden since leaving the Bruins in the off season. He was with the Bruins for six seasons.

Puck drops 7 pm in Boston.
