PPG Paints Arena Pittsburgh Pa 3:00PM Sunday Jan. 22nd 2017. Recap: Blowout by the Mighty Penguins.

First period:

Game underway. Good tempo by both teams through the opening minutes. Great saves made at both ends of the ice. He had great vision through the modified first period. Matt Murray was just as stifling.

Through the first 10 minutes the Penguins had only 1.5 minutes more attacking zone time but seemed more on the cusp of making something happen than the Bruins.

Petr Hornqvist, who has his gloves cemented on; went after the smaller Torey Krug but was intercepted by officials. Bruins again victims of blocked shots and missed nets. Murray looked shaken up after a crashed net scoring opportunity by Tim Schaller
